Mezzogiorno e apertura internazionale ne "La Riforma Sociale"

Abstract

In questo articolo si analizza il dibattito sul Mezzogiorno che ha animato le pagine della rivista La Riforma Sociale. Il periodico ospita una pluralità di opinioni ma prevalentemente promuove una politica di libero scambio, in chiave socialista con la direzione di Francesco Saverio Nitti e in un’ottica più capitalista con quella di Luigi Einaudi. La tematica del Mezzogiorno viene trattata all’interno di una molteplicità di argomenti: la demografia, la ricchezza, il commercio estero, il protezionismo cerealicolo, l’emigrazione e il colonialismo. Ne emerge un quadro interessante sia in termini di confronto teorico che di valutazione dei dati empirici.
