Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine which elements of the German dual system might be adopted to improve the Dutch VET system. While the German model offers potential benefits, the goal is not to replicate it in full but to adapt specific practices to fit the Dutch context. Both systems have evolved over many years and are shaped by unique historical, cultural, and economic factors. Therefore, the emphasis is on identifying aspects of the German system that can be effectively tailored to Dutch VET.
