Standardization of the Thematic Mapping for Environmental Monitoring of the Arctic Seas

Abstract

Current work details standardized methodology for mapping dynamics of the pollution of the seas with a case study of Arctic. The paper discussed the main problems arising while mapping such complex objects as marine areas. The workflow steps for mapping marine areas are suggested and presented. The parameters required for mapping seas are suggested. Finally, the most important cartographic sources of raw materials for creating GIS project for the marine areas are recommended.
