Abstract

[fr] Dans un contexte de libéralisation accrue, la commercialisation des biotechnologies agricoles représente une opportunité de rattrapage économique pour les pays émergents engagés dans un processus d'ouverture et d'intégration aux marchés mondiaux. Leur coopération dans le domaine de l'innovation biotechnologique leur confère de surcroît une marge de manoeuvre potentielle face aux puissances occidentales. Toutefois, la confusion règlementaire prévalant en la matière soumet ces prémices de coopération Sud-Sud au risque de l'instrumentalisation stratégique. Reposant sur une conception théorique alternative de la puissance appliquée au partenariat sino-brésilien, cet article se focalise sur le secteur de l'agro-business et sur le cas du soja transgénique afin de comprendre comment la Chine parvient à construire une relation d'interdépendance asymétrique entre un leader agricole brésilien et un challenger chinois.
