Puntos fijos en homeomorfismos del círculo: aplicaciones geométricas

Abstract

Se prueba un teorema sobre existencia de puntos fijos en ciertos homeomorfismos del círculo, encontrándose aplicaciones geométricas del mismo para probar propiedades de inscriptibilidad. Los resultados son válidos para curvas homeomorfas a círculos, y en el caso de que acoten regiones convexas (en el trabajo se llaman a tales curvas convexas), surgen de forma natural las aplicaciones geométricas. La idea de este trabajo tuvo su origen en 1971 cuando estudiaba la licenciatura en la U.C.M. (y entonces apodé el trabajo con el nombre de "teoría de huevos"), pero la presente redacción fue concluida en febrero de 1983.
