El impacto de la moneda única en España, desde una perspectiva sectorial

Abstract

La incorporación de España a la Unión Monetaria Europea (UME) en 1999 corona un proceso iniciado en 1986 con la entrada en la Comunidad Económica Europea (CEE) y cuyo saldo más evidente es una cada vez mayor integración supranacional. No obstante, la UME tuvo un particular impacto no solo en la apertura externa española, sino también, en el comportamiento y desarrollo de su estructura económica, propiciando o limitando el crecimiento de las diferentes actividades económicas. El sobredimensionamiento de determinados sectores por sobre otros y la desindustrialización relativa de la economía española reforzaron las asimetrías ya existentes, provocando que la crisis internacional de 2008 tuviera efectos muy negativos y duraderos para el país ibérico.
