Las relaciones entre servicios a empresas e industria en el contexto regional

Abstract

Este artículo se plantea contrastar las relaciones de las actividades de servicios a empresas (SEMP) con respecto a las actividades industriales desde el punto de vista de la localización en España, utilizando para ello el ámbito regional. La mera exploración de la localización del empleo y los locales en ambos sectores desde una perspectiva descriptiva concluye que no existen pautas relacionales definidas entre un mayor desarrollo de los servicios a empresas y una mayor presencia industrial en las distintas regiones españolas. Ello obliga a una exploración más detallada de los factores distorsionadores que pueden explicar este resultado: entre ellos se apuntan el grado de urbanización de la región en cuestión (definido como el porcentaje de la población residente en municipios mayores de 50000 habitantes), su renta per cápita y, sobre todo, su especialización industrial. En este sentido, el análisis de correlaciones muestra resultados significativos para aquellas regiones con patrones de especialización industrial más avanzados.
