El reto del empleo en el área euromediterránea. El papel impulsor del sector servicios

Abstract

La experiencia de determinados países y los avances teóricos han dejado caducas las antiguas ideas y políticas económicas que consideraban a las actividades de servicios una rémora para el desarrollo y el crecimiento de los países. Superada esta visión tradicional, actualmente se considera que los servicios, en conjunción con la industria y la agricultura exportadora, constituyen una pieza clave en todo proceso que pretenda incrementar el bienestar material de los ciudadanos mediante la creación de empleo; bien en un contexto de crisis económica o de transformaciones sociales y políticas, como es el caso de los países del Área Mediterránea.
