Franco Modigliani: il primo economista keynesiano contemporaneo

Abstract

In questo lavoro ci riproponiamo di evidenziare l’importanza di Modigliani per la macroeconomia keynesiana contemporanea. Il nostro obiettivo è di sottolineare il profondo legame teorico, metodologico e più, in generale, di visione che unisce Modigliani ai ricercatori che oggi studiano i fenomeni macroeconomici a partire dal convincimento che sia necessario fornire solide microfondazioni alla modellistica macroeconomica, che prezzi e salari siano viscosi, e che i mercati siano imperfetti e possano “fallire”. Il nostro punto di vista è che pochi economisti come Modigliani possano essere considerati come colonne portanti della teoria macroeconomica keynesiana contemporanea. In questo lavoro, sviluppiamo gradualmente questa idea attraverso la progressiva introduzione degli elementi che, a nostro avviso, supportano questa tesi.
