Croissance des exportations, utilisation de la capacité et croissance de la productivité : données sur les établissements de fabrication canadiens

Abstract

La croissance de la productivité du travail dans le secteur des entreprises au Canada a connu un ralentissement substantiel après 2000. La majeure partie du ralentissement a eu lieu dans le secteur de la fabrication. Le présent document vise à examiner comment ce ralentissement a été lié à la restructuration qui s'est produite dans le secteur de la fabrication, par suite de l'augmentation de la capacité excédentaire, de la hausse marquée du taux de change Canada-États-Unis et d'un ralentissement dans la croissance des exportations.
