Abstract

La nature du processus concurrentiel qui donne lieu à une réaffectation des parts de marché au sein d'une industrie contribue à la croissance agrégée de la productivité. Le présent document permet de mieux comprendre en quoi le processus concurrentiel diffère d'une industrie à l'autre, en examinant le roulement des entreprises et la croissance de la productivité dans d'autres industries de services au Canada et en situant ces industries par rapport celles de la fabrication et du commerce de détail, qui ont déjà fait l'objet d'études comparables. Sept industries du secteur des services - le commerce de gros, le transport et l'entreposage, le transport aérien, le transport par camion, la radiotélévision et les télécommunications, les services aux entreprises et les services financiers - sont examinées.
