Évolution de l’utilisation d’Internet chez les aînés canadiens

Abstract

Depuis 2016, les taux d’utilisation d’Internet chez les Canadiens âgés de 15 à 64 ans ont presque atteint un point de saturation (97,2 %). Cependant, la diffusion des technologies de l’information et des communications (TIC), y compris Internet, a affiché un rythme beaucoup plus lent chez les Canadiens âgés de 65 ans et plus. Étant donné que le Canada est une société vieillissante, il est essentiel de connaître les facteurs associés à l’utilisation d’Internet chez les aînés pour assurer que ces derniers y ont accès. Cette étude utilise quatre cycles de l’Enquête sociale générale (2007, 2010, 2013 et 2016) pour décrire la variation des taux d’utilisation d’Internet chez les aînés canadiens et elle permet d’examiner les facteurs sociodémographiques associés à cette utilisation.
