Abstract

La présence croissante des femmes dans des métiers à prédominance masculine a été signalée comme un moyen d’améliorer l’offre de main d’œuvre dans les métiers qualifiés au Canada, de créer une main-d’œuvre plus diversifiée et d’accroître la rémunération des femmes. Cependant, peu de renseignements existent sur la décision des femmes de suivre un programme d’apprentissage à prédominance masculine et sur leurs résultats sur le marché du travail. La présente étude vise à répondre à ces deux lacunes statistiques en examinant les caractéristiques associées aux femmes choisissant des programmes d’apprentissage à prédominance masculine et leurs résultats sur le marché du travail par rapport aux hommes ayant choisi les mêmes types de programmes.
