Les résultats sur le marché du travail parmi les réfugiés au Canada

Abstract

Entre les années 1980 et 2000, le Canada a accueilli plus de 830 000 réfugiés. Cependant, leurs résultats économiques, plus particulièrement les variations entre les principaux groupes de réfugiés, n’ont pas fait l’objet d’un examen complet. Au moyen de la Base de données longitudinales sur les immigrants, les auteurs examinent, dans le présent document, les résultats sur le marché du travail de réfugiés provenant de 13 pays d’origine qui sont arrivés en grand nombre au Canada au cours de la période allant de 1980 à 2009. L’analyse compare tout d’abord les taux d’emploi et la rémunération de réfugiés des 13 pays d’origine. Elle compare ensuite chaque groupe de réfugiés avec des immigrants de la catégorie économique et des immigrants du regroupement familial qui sont arrivés au cours de la même période.
