Perspectives à long terme sur les entreprises de taille moyenne : le rôle de la productivité et de la portée géographique

Abstract

Dans le présent document, des microdonnées sur les entreprises canadiennes de 1999 à 2013 sont utilisées pour étudier les caractéristiques des moyennes entreprises du secteur privé qui effectuent une transition et se classent dans la catégorie des grandes entreprises ou dans celle des petites entreprises. La catégorie de taille d’une entreprise est définie en fonction d’une période de trois ans pour assurer qu’elle est représentative de l’état à long terme de l’entreprise plutôt que d’un état passager pour une année donnée. Le document examine ce qui distingue les moyennes entreprises qui deviennent de grandes entreprises de celles qui redeviennent de petites entreprises.
