Abstract

Les programmes de travailleurs étrangers temporaires sont devenus une composante de plus en plus importante de la migration internationale dans les pays développés occidentaux. Cependant, on en connaît peu sur la durée du séjour des travailleurs étrangers dans le pays d’accueil et sur les déterminants associés à leur parcours migratoire. Fondée sur un ensemble de données administratives longitudinales national sur les travailleurs étrangers temporaires (TET) au Canada, la présente étude porte sur le type de séjour de ces travailleurs étrangers au Canada et la durée de leur séjour. On y étudie aussi la probabilité de séjour en fonction des caractéristiques démographiques individuelles, des attributs du pays d’origine, des facteurs institutionnels du pays d’accueil ainsi que des conditions des collectivités locales.
