Resultats scolaires et resultats sur le marche du travail des personnes qui ont immigre durant l'enfance selon la categorie d'admission

Abstract

Il est bien etabli que les enfants d'immigrants au Canada obtiennent un plus haut niveau de scolarite que leurs pairs dont les parents sont nes au Canada, et que les deux groupes presentent des resultats similaires sur le marche du travail. Cependant, il existe une grande variabilite en fonction de l'appartenance ethnique ou du pays d'origine parmi les enfants d'immigrants. La presente etude examine la mesure dans laquelle la categorie d'admission (c.-a-d., travailleurs qualifies, gens d'affaires immigrants, aides familiaux residants, membres de la categorie du regroupement familial et refugies) influe elle aussi sur les resultats socioeconomiques des immigrants qui sont arrives pendant l'enfance au Canada, avant l'age de 18 ans.
