Les travailleurs mis a pied au cours des trois dernieres recessions : qui etaient-ils et quels resultats ont-ils obtenus?

Abstract

Au cours des trois dernieres decennies, le Canada a connu trois recessions : une premiere qui a commence au debut des annees 1980; une deuxieme, au debut des annees 1990; et la plus recente, qui a entraine des baisses de l'emploi a partir d'octobre 2008. Pour chacune de ces recessions, la presente etude : a) determine quels travailleurs ont ete mis a pied; b) quantifie les taux de mise a pied; et c) evalue la proportion de travailleurs qui ont trouve un emploi peu apres avoir ete mis a pied. Le concept de mise a pied utilise comprend les mises a pied temporaires ainsi que les mises a pied permanentes.
