Protection en matiere de pensions, situation par rapport a la retraite et taux de remplacement du revenu d'une cohorte de personnes agees canadiennes

Abstract

On utilise les donnees de la banque de donnees administratives longitudinales (DAL) pour comparer la situation a la retraite et les taux de remplacement du revenu atteints par des personnes qui, en 1991 et/ou en 1992, alors qu'elles etaient au milieu de la cinquantaine, participaient a un regime de pension agree (RPA) et ne participaient pas. Pour les hommes de la cohorte, la probabilite d'etre a la retraite a l'age de 70 a 72 ans etait de 4 a 14 points de pourcentage plus elevee parmi les participants a un regime de pension que parmi les non-participants. Les donnees employees pour l'etude ne fournissent pas de renseignements sur la raison pour laquelle les non-participants a un RPA ont tendance a prendre leur retraite plus tard que les participants. Pour les personnes retraitees, il n'y avait pas de difference significative entre les taux de remplacement du revenu des participants a un RPA et ceux des non-participants.
