La delocalisation et l'emploi au Canada : quelques points de repere

Abstract

Dans la presente etude, nous regroupons une grande gamme d'ensembles de donnees en vue de produire un ensemble de faits stylises relatifs a la delocalisation et a l'evolution de l'emploi survenues au Canada ces dernieres annees. Notre principale constatation est que presque tous les ensembles de donnees utilises ne permettent jusqu'à present de degager que peu de preuves d'une correlation entre la delocalisation, quelle qu'elle soit definie, et l'evolution des taux d'emplois et de mises a pied. Bien que nos analyses soient assez simples, elles suggerent toutes que l'incidence que pourrait avoir eue jusqu'à maintenant l'externalisation sur l'emploi et le deplacement de la main d'oeuvre canadienne est vraisemblablement moderee et, donc, peu probablement decelable a l'aide de donnees au niveau de l'industrie ou de la categorie professionnelle.
