Abstract

Dans cet article, l'auteur décrit à l'aide de données empiriques les effets des variations continuelles des termes de l'échange au Canada. Ensuite, Il y expose la façon de mesurer les termes de l'échange et d'en interpréter les fluctuations. On y retrouve des exemples des deux principaux facteurs touchant les termes de l'échange ainsi qu'une analyse empirique sur la manière dont les améliorations aux termes de l'échange qui ont commencé en 2003 ont eu un effet sur la consommation, l'investissement et les importations. En conclusion de l'article, on y trouve une explication des raisons pour lesquelles la croissance de la demande intérieure finale dépasse celle du PIB depuis 2003.
