Abstract

Le présent document traite de l'incidence du contrôle étranger sur les branches d'activité non financières canadiennes. Il est axé sur l'évolution de la part des actifs et des recettes sous contrôle étranger au cours d'une longue période durant laquelle le régime canadien de réglementation de l'investissement direct étranger a d'abord été plus contraignant, puis s'est libéralisé. Ces changements réglementaires ont coïncidé avec un repli, puis une reprise des activités des multinationales étrangères dans l'industrie canadienne. Nous présentons les résultats agrégés pour les branches d'activité non financières, ainsi que des totalisations particulières pour le secteur de l'énergie. Nous présentons aussi des totalisations par secteur plus détaillées pour la période allant de 2000 à 2003.
