ODA in Indonesia: A Preliminary Assessment

Author

Abstract

This paper provides a preliminary assessment of long- term ODA flows to Indonesia. ODA consists of bilateral and multilateral aid, but this paper focuses specifically on multilateral agencies like the World Bank or the ADB and Japan. The rationale for this approach is that the World Bank and the ADB (recently also the IMF) played an important role in setting the economic agenda in Indonesia, while Japan is the biggest donor and investor country and thus plays a vital role in Indonesia's economy.
