Den marginalistiske revolution: En dansk spire der ikke slog rod?

Abstract

Med marginalismens gennembrud i 1870’erne skifter fokus i økonomisk teori. Fra nu af er det mikroøkonomiske perspektiv sat i højsæde: hvorledes sikres en effektiv allokering af ressourcerne i økonomien? Og dermed træder den klassiske æras makroøkonomiske dimension i baggrunden indtil keynesianismen i 1930’erne på ny revolutionerede den økonomiske fagdisciplin. Om end marginalismens gennembrud er tæt knyttet til Jevons, Menger og Walras, var der dog også danske bidrag, som måske kunne have påvirket udviklingen af det nye paradigme kraftigere og mere markant, end det nu rent faktisk blev tilfældet. Især Harald Westergaards bidrag må i denne forbindelse fremhæves, men også Julius Petersen og Frederik Bing bør nævnes. Om disse handler nærværende artikel.
