Noile Perspective Teoretice Ale Dezvoltarii Economice La Nivel Regional

This article aims to analyze and synthetically interpret the main theoretical contributions of regional development and their representatives, who had a significant scientific contribution, succeeding to print this approach to economic problems a transdisciplinary character. It also aims to identify current trends and perspectives recorded in the field, determined mainly by changes in the world in thinking, action and perception of economic phenomena, social, political, environmental etc. The first part of the paper contains a brief overview of the main stages, presented in their historical evolution, which represented for the regional economy benchmarks, to which experts refer constantly. In the second part of the paper there are presented the most popular approaches to the regional economy, their supporters and how they left their mark on the basic theories. The discussion takes place, in particular, on two central elements existing in the fundamental theoretical approaches: the location of activities and regional economic development. The final section is dedicated to regional policy issues, which present the theoretical support imposed by the rigors of science and which managed to make the transition from a relatively abstract field, in its first stage of existence, to one anchored in the contemporary reality, dynamic and with an undeniable practical purpose. In this way, the regional development policy, through its objectives and actions, can be characterized by a strong transdisciplinary character, science-based, connected to realities and with multiple possibilities of approach and action.
