Aspects Concerning The Role Of Small And Medium-Sized Enterprises In The Romanian Economy

Abstract

Small and medium-sized enterprises play an important role in economic development both as suppliers, with employment opportunities and as a source of welfare for regional and local communities. If for large companies, small and medium-sized firms may represent adversaries, for individuals they represent jobs, first steps in their careers and, last but not least, an important step towards entrepreneurship. In fact, for the whole economy, this sector is the promotor of new ideas and processes capable of more efficient resource use.
