Abstract

The scientific report presents a study conducted by the Research Center for Socio-Political Monitoring of the Institute of Social Sciences of the RANEPA. The relevance of research. Serious changes in the lifestyle of citizens caused by the pandemic, socio-economic instability, and turbulence in world politics necessitate regular monitoring of the self- preservation behavior of Russians. The purpose of the study is to assess changes in the behavioral practices of the Russian population, representing various social, demographic, and professional groups, in the field of ensuring a healthy lifestyle. The object of the study is the behavioral practices of the Russian population, representing various social, demographic, and professional groups in the field of ensuring a healthy lifestyle. The main research method is an all-Russian sociological survey using a sample representing the territorial distribution of the Russian population, the ratio of residents of different types of settlements, as well as the main socio-demographic groups, and a comparison of the results obtained with the results of previous surveys. Based on the results of the study, an analysis of changes in the behavioral practices of the Russian population in the field of ensuring a healthy lifestyle and maintaining health status is presented. The study allows us to draw the following conclusions. The current survey demonstrated a decrease in respondents' interest in healthy lifestyle issues and, as a result, a decrease in the proportion of respondents adhering to healthy behavior. The results of the study once again confirm that the high value attitude of respondents towards a healthy lifestyle differs from the actual practice of behavior. Even though they have good ideas about healthy eating, Russians do not always adhere to this practice. The involvement of citizens in active physical education and sports has shown a slight decline over the past two years. The problem of bad habits does not lose its relevance despite significant improvements in this area over the previous decade. The study showed a shift towards greater smoking prevalence among younger generations, due to the expansion of alternative smoking methods. There has been an increase in the consumption of energy drinks, especially popular among young people. The scientific novelty lies in the collection and analysis of current empirical information about the behavioral practices of Russians to maintain their health, taking into account new social and economic conditions. Recommendations based on the results of the study are related to the need to improve directions in the field of social policy that promote public health, taking into account the needs of citizens of different socio-demographic groups.
