Abstract
Changes in approaches of FAO food security monitoring after the adoption of the UN Sustainable Development Goals until 2030 and innovations in the 2020 RF Food Security Doctrine were considered. The assessment of the current state and trends in food security in Russia from 2013 to 2019 (by several available indicators - for 2020) was carried out using different methods. The methodology for assessing food security has been improved, taking into account international approaches and the available information in Russia. The methodology for calculating budgetary expenditures for food support of families has been worked out. An overview of the standard consequences of crises that affected the population's access to food was presented, and the measures of the Russian government in 2020 to overcome these consequences were briefly analyzed. The research results can be used by federal executive authorities to assess the current state, develop forecast and measures in the field of food security.
