Russian and Foreign Typology of Rural Areas and Communities: The Search for Interdisciplinary Areas of Rural-Urban Studies in the Context of the E.E. In today's inter-disciplinary socio-spatial research, as well as in areas of regional policy related to sustainable development of rural areas and communities in their interaction with the cities gained a significant body of both Russian and foreign approaches requiring synthetic rethinking to generate new research study of modern software rural-urban continuum. One of the possible platforms for the creation and development of such programs could be the E.E. Leizerovich concept of russian neighborhoods. To prepare an analytical review of the major Russian and foreign typologies of rural areas and communities in connection with the current problems of the rural-urban development, we pose the question of the possible ways of adapting the concept of neighborhoods EE Leizerovich to the directions of contemporary interdisciplinary studies of rural-urban typologies.
