Abstract

The paper reflects the systematization and historical analysis of approaches to the regulation of natural monopolies that have been used in the United States and Europe over the past century. The focus is on the oil and gas sector, electric power industry and rail transportation as the largest areas of activity of natural monopolies. The study of international experience allows us to identify trends in the development of regulation of natural monopolies and assess the prospects for applying this experience to Russian enterprises.
