Abstract

Bei aller Hysterie, die sich an Begriffen wie "Klimakatastrophe" festmachen laesst und die aktuell fast schon zu Bestandteilen des Glaubensbekenntnis mutieren, ist es fuer Oekonomen, die sich mit Umwelt und Umweltguetern beschaeftigen, umso wichtiger, nuechtern, abgewogen und rational zu urteilen, was zu allererst eine Beherrschung des disziplinaeren Instrumentariums voraussetzt. Dabei treten allerdings haeufiger als man glauben mag Unsicherheiten und Erklaerungsnotstaende auf, deren Beseitigung sich rechtfertigt, "wenn's denn der Wahrheitsfindung dient". Des Alt-Kommunarden Fritz Teufel beruehmte Antwort auf die Aufforderung des Richters, sich bei dessen Erscheinen doch bitte zu erheben, soll uns Anlass sein, einmal mehr an den Grundfesten der Umweltoekonomie klaerend und stabilisierend aktiv zu werden.
