La qualité en tant que standard industriel (Quality as an industrial standard)

L’objectif de ce texte est de donner au lecteur quelques points de repère basiques sur la qualité : définition et évolution. La révolution industrielle avait entraîné l’augmentation de la taille des entreprises et le développement de la division du travail. La démarche qualité est née dans ce contexte bien particulier. Depuis le début des années 1980, l’intensification de la concurrence internationale et le développement des nouvelles technologies de l’information et de la communication ont conduit les grandes entreprises à se réorganiser au niveau mondial et à redéfinir les normes de qualité, en tant que standard industriel. The aim of this text is to present basic elements about quality as an industrial standard: definition and evolution. The two main consequences of the industrial revolution were the growing size of the firms and the development of the division of labour. The quality as an industrial standard was born in a particular context. Since the beginning of the 80’s, the intensification of the international competition and the development of new technologies of information and communication have incited big enterprises to development a new organization of production and to develop new applications of quality as a standard of production.
