Abstract

Industry 4.0 promises enormous benefits. Although, the government, business and research must tackle a number of challenges together on a technical, legal, economic and organizational level. These challenges concern data protection and data security, the expansion of the public infrastructure, the integration process in the IT ecosystem, the integration in the value chain, the loss of control in internals, the human-machine hierarchy, questions concerning financing resilient high-performance networks, as well as the political position about the Chinese catching-up process in high-technology.
