Abstract

П. In prof. P. Leiashvily's work the problems of money, credit and the banking system in the modern economy is discussed. In textbooks, these problems are misunderstood, as a result of which entire generations of economic students graduate from universities with misconceptions about the functioning of modern banking system. These problems became especially relevant after the crisis of 2008-2010, in the provocation of which a huge role was played by the financial sector and the credit expansion of commercial banks. The society is not sufficiently informed about the true activity of commercial banks, their role in the economy and the problems they generate. The purpose of this work is to help eliminate this information deficit and help the reader to understand the huge flow of false information that is disseminated about these problems. The work is intended for researchers, lecturers and students of economic faculties, as well as for politicians and a wide range of readers interested in these issues.
