The Intersection Of Sociology And Economics - Creating Just Solutions For A Digital World

Abstract

The complex and dynamic interplay of sociology and economics, currently relevant in societal challenges such as growing inequality, living conditions in a gig economy, and developing AI technologies has increasingly dominated stakeholders’ discussions and research programs in the social sciences. There is a growing understanding that, especially in a digital context, a society is too complex to be covered by any of these disciplines alone, and economists and sociologists need to work closely together to create fair solutions. In light of this trend, the interdisciplinary perspective being the closest to the understanding of what actually happens appears to be intriguing.
