A Review and Synthesis of Macroeconomic Models of the Philippines

Author

Listed:
  • Velasco, Virgilio T.

Abstract

While this paper tries to review the various macro econometric models that have not yet been developed for the Philippines after 1965, it makes no attempt to neither reconcile the different estimated parameter values of the various models nor compare projection results because it recognizes that the models use different sources of data covering different periods and is developed for different purposes. However, it argues that based on the observations made and insights drawn from these models, some preliminary specifications for a macro econometric model for development planning can be made.
