Calidad Del Aire Y Gasto De Bolsillo En Salud En Lima Metropolitana: Una Aproximación A Los Modelos De Producción De Salud

Abstract

La contaminación del aire no sólo reduce la calidad de vida de la población, también afecta su economía pues influye sobre la fracción del gasto familiar que se destina al cuidado de la salud. A partir de un modelo de optimización del bienestar familiar, el estudio busca estimar la importancia de la calidad del aire junto a otras variables socio-económicas relevantes (grupos de edad, sexo, afecciones crónicas, disponibilidad de aseguramiento médico, estrato socioeconómico, entre otros.) en la determinación de la proporción del gasto de bolsillo que cada hogar destina al cuidado de la salud de sus integrantes. Para ello se emplea una estimación de tipo Corner Solution (modelo Hurdle) utilizando como fuente de información primaria la ENAHO y el inventario de emisiones del DIGESA para los años 2007 a 2009.
