El complejo camino de los business improvement districts en España

Abstract

Las iniciativas de colaboración público-privada para la revitalización urbana y comercial en España se han desarrollado bajo el modelo de Centro Comercial Abierto (CCA). Este modelo, de adscripción voluntaria presenta problemas como los free riders y la financiación inconsistente, lo que limita su eficacia operativa. Los Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) son modelos de colaboración público-privada para la revitalización urbana y la dinamización comercial que superan dichas dificultades y han demostrado su éxito internacional. Sin embargo, España se enfrenta a algunas barreras para su adopción. Este artículo explora el estado de la cuestión sobre la complejidad en la adopción del modelo de los BIDs en España.
