The Nonprofit Sector and Public Policy in Canada

Abstract

In light of recent calls for the voluntary sector to play anincreased role in the economy, this paper takes a look at the sector's current role in the Canadian economy. A brief profile of the Canadian nonprofit sector is provided based upon available data on the sector.
