Abstract

The Gregorian Calendar, while widely used, has numerous structural inconsistencies that impact personal, financial, and scheduling practices on a global scale. This paper presents the Tellus Calendar, a reform proposal grounded in metric principles inspired by the French Republican Calendar (FRC) but adapted to modern needs. By introducing a 12-month calendar with 10-day weeks and 30-day months, this proposal aims to achieve uniformity and predictability without displacing familiar seasonal cycles or cultural milestones. The Tellus Calendar offers an achievable balance between innovation and tradition, providing a perennial and globally viable alternative to our current system. Beyond structural improvements, the Tellus Calendar also promises enhanced efficiency in financial, academic, and social planning, simplifying long-term scheduling and fostering a more synchronised global society.
