¿Hay una relación entre la ciudad y la violencia? Análisis exploratorio para las Zonas Metropolitanas de Hidalgo, México

Abstract

El texto discute la relación entre el fenómeno de la urbanización de las ciudades, y la violencia a través del indicador de incidencia delictiva que registra el INEGI, para las 3 zonas metropolitanas de Hidalgo (Pachuca, Tula y Tulancingo). Se ofrece una explicación de dicha relación mediante el concepto de necrópolis; una estructura socioespacial que genera las condiciones para el surgimiento de las violencias. Los resultados confirman el vínculo a partir de un ejercicio de correlación, el cual muestra el carácter recíproco de ambas variables, dando lugar a la urbanización como causa y efecto de la violencia en las metrópolis.
