Abstract

'Crocodile in the Yangtze’ merupakan film yang mengisahkan mengenai pengusaha Internet pertama China dan mantan guru bahasa Inggris yaitu Jack Ma. Film ini bercerita mengenai perjalanan Jack Ma ketika ia berusaha mewujudkan mimpinya dan memperlihatkan perjalanan Jack Ma dalam melawan salah satu perusahaan raksasa AS yaitu eBay. Film memorial ini menayangkan kehidupan pasang surut Jack Ma dalam membangun perusahaan start-up internet China yang berusaha bersaing dengan perusahaan barat. Perjalanan membuat start-up yang dimulai dari sebuah keingintahuan dan bertempat Gedung apartemen kecil hingga menjadi perusahaan global dan berhasil mempekerjakan lebih dari 16.000 karyawan. Perusahaan tersebut kini berdiri dengan nama Alibaba Group. Film ini dituliskan oleh seorang Amerika yang juga mantan karyawan Alibaba dan diceritakan dari sudut pandang “American fly on a Chinese wall"
