Yüzüncü Yılında Lozan Barış Anlaşması’nın Önem, Anlam Ve Hükümlerinin Hatırlanması Ve Hatırlatılması

Abstract

Bu yazı, 24 Temmuz 1923'te imzalanan ve 100. yıldönümünü kutladığımız Lozan Barış Antlaşması'nın Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin temellerinin atılmasındaki önemini vurgulamaktadır. Türk tarihinde bir dönüm noktası olan bu Antlaşma, Mustafa Kemal liderliğindeki Milliyetçi Hareket'in parçalanmış bir imparatorluktan bağımsız ve egemen bir Türk devleti kurma gücünü gözler önüne sermiştir. Cumhuriyetin temel ilkeleri olan egemenlik ve bağımsızlık kavramları, bu mücadeleden doğmuş olup, Türk Kurtuluş Savaşında önemli yeri bulunmaktadır. Birinci Dünya Savaşı'nı sona erdiren diğer antlaşmaların aksine, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin "doğum belgesi" olarak kabul edilen Lozan Barış Antlaşması, geçerliliğini ve kalıcılığını korumaktadır. Bazı kesimlerin eleştirilerine rağmen, Türk halkı ezici bir çoğunlukla Antlaşmayı desteklemektedir. Son dönemde Antlaşma'nın bazı yönlerinin Türkiye dışındaki akademik platformlarda sorgulanması, bu tarihi belgenin dünyanın dikkatine sunulması için bir fırsattır. Yüzüncü yıl kutlamaları, Türkiye'nin tarihinde bağımsızlık ve egemenliğin önemini vurgulayacak ve Antlaşmayı değiştirmeye yönelik herhangi bir girişim, muhtemelen Türk kamuoyunun güçlü muhalefetiyle karşılaşacaktır.
