Abstract

Hadits memiliki tempat sentral dalam tradisi Islam. Bersamaan dengan Al-Qur'an, itu menjadi sumber tasyr kedua dalam Islam. Ia berfungsi sebagai penjelasan Al-Qur'an, mengkhususkan pada universalitas Al-Qur'an, dan mentaqyid membatasi kemutlakan Al-Qur'an. Kecuali bahwa Hadits terkadang menetapkan hukum yang tidak disebutkan dalam Al-Qur'an. Sebenarnya di sisi lain, bisa dikatakan bahwa Hadits itu sendiri adalah sumber tashir, karena banyak Hadits Nabi meletakkan hukum-hukum yang tidak terdapat dalam Al-Qur'an. Di sisi lain, Hadits juga tidak dianggap sebagai sumber Islam tersendiri, karena memang posisinya sebagai ekspositor atau tabyin Al-Qur'an. Mengingat pentingnya status hadis ini, tidak heran jika banyak sahabat Nabi yang memelihara, mengamalkan dan mengajarkannya secara turun-temurun.
