Abstract

Diare adalah suatu keadaan pengeluaran tinja yang tidak normal atau tidak seperti biasanya. Perubahan yang terjadi berupa perubahan peningkatan volume, keenceran, dan frekuensi dengan atau tanpa lendir darah. Tingginya angka kejadian diare disebabkan oleh banyak faktor diantaranya makanan dan minuman yang terkontaminasi akibat kebersihan yang buruk, infeksi virus dan bakteri. Penyakit diare merupakan penyebab utama kematian kedua pada anak di bawah lima tahun dan mengakibatkan kematian sekitar 525.000 anak setiap tahunnya. Riwayat alamiah penyakit diare yaitu, tahap prepatogenesis dan patogenesis. Dimana tahap patogenesis terdiri dari tahap inkubasi, tahap dini, tahap lanjut dan tahap akhir. Adapun tingkatan pencegahan penyakit diare yaitu pencegahan tingkatan pertama (primary prevention), tingkatan kedua (secondary prevention), dan tingkatan ketiga (tertiary prevention).
