Abstract

Pada dasarnya, waralaba (franchise) adalah sebuah perjanjian mengenai metode pendistribusian suatu barang dan jasa kepada konsumen. Dalam hal ini, franchisor (orang yang menyediakan fasilitas waralaba) memberikan lisensi kepada franchisee (orang yang membeli lisensi dari franchisor) untuk melakukan kegiatan pendistribusian barang dan jasa di bawah nama dan identitas franchisor dimana waralaba tersebut dijalankan sesuai dengan prosedur dan cara yang ditetapkan franchisor. Franchisor memberikan bantuan (assistance) kepada franchise untuk mempermudah proses berjalannya bisnis waralaba. Francisee membayar sejumlah uang berupa innitial fee dan royalti sebagai imbalannya, dengan perjanjian yang sudah disepakati oleh kedua belah pihak (Redjeki et al., 2011)
