Abstract

Koperasi menjadi salah satu pilar penting dalam mendorong dan meningkatkan pembangunan serta perekonomian nasional. Pada awal kemerdekaan Indonesia, koperasi diatur oleh Undang-Undang No. 14 Tahun 1965 tentang Perkoperasian. Setelah itu, terjadi beberapa peraturan mengenai koperasi tersebut mengalami beberapa pergantian, mulai dari dihapusnya Undang-undang tersebut dan digantikan oleh Undang-Undang No. 12 Tahun 1967 tentang Pokok- Pokok Perkoperasian, kemudian oleh Undang-Undang No. 25 Tahun 1992 tentang Perkoperasian. Penjelasan bidang usaha koperasi seharusnya diadakan berdasarkan kebutuhan dan tujuan pendirinya. Pada umumnya, bidang usaha koperasi meliputi bidang produksi, konsumsi, perkreditan dan jasa. Atas dasar inilah diadakan pembagian jenis, bentuk serta tujuan organisasi yang akan dijelaskan dalam makalah ini.
