Pemanfaatan Limbah Styrofoam Menjadi Bingkai Foto

Abstract

Styrofoam memang banyak digunakan untuk kebutuhan sehari-hari. Banyak penjual makanan atau minuman yang menggunakan styrofoam sebagai pembungkus barang dagangannya. Padahal, styrofoam mengandung benzena yang merupakan penyebab kanker dan dapat berpindah ke makanan atau minuman yang dibungkusnya tersebut. Styrofoam bersifat mikroplastik yang apabila dibuang ke perairan, lama-kelamaan akan terpecah menjadi pecahan plastik tak kasat mata yang disebut mikroplastik. Pecahan tersebut akan termakan oleh ikan dan akan beralih ke manusia yang memakan ikan tersebut. Limbah styrofoam sulit diuraikan. Akibatnya, semakin hari limbah styrofoam semakin menggunung. Limbah styrofoam akan mencemari tanah apabila dikubur dalam tanah dan akan mengganggu lapisan ozon apabila dibakar. Apabila limbah styrofoam dibuang sembarangan, pada akhirnya limbah akan bermuara di laut dan merusak ekosistem. Berangkat dari hal tersebut maka tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan bahan styrofoam menjadi bingkai foto sebagai upaya pelestarian lingkungan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi teks atau studi pustaka.
