Abstract

Trong tuần này, Viện Hàn lâm Khoa học Hoàng gia Thụy Điển lần lượt xướng tên các nhà khoa học đoạt giải Nobel ở các lĩnh vực khác nhau. Năm nay, giải Nobel Y Sinh đã trao cho nhà nghiên cứu di truyền học Svante Paboo, người Thụy Điển vì những phát hiện của ông liên quan đến chuỗi ADN của loài vượn người và quá trình tiến hóa của loài người. Công trình của ông đặc biệt ý nghĩa bởi từ lâu câu hỏi về nguồn gốc của con người luôn là câu hỏi lớn mà nhân loại trăn trở. Người tinh khôn, người hiện đại ngày nay thuộc giống Homo sapiens, cùng 7 giống người cổ đại có nguồn gốc từ hàng triệu năm trước. Qua thời gian, nhiều loài tuyệt chủng và giáo sư Paboo phát hiện sự chuyển gen của những loài tuyệt chủng này sang Người tinh khôn Homo Sapiens. Với phát hiện này, ông đã đặt nền móng cho các nhà khoa học khác để tiếp tục đi tìm nguồn gốc của con người hiện nay.
