Abstract

Ricardo dianggap menjadikan ilmu ekonomi sebagai ilmu yang kokoh dengan melibatkan ketepatan hitungan matematika. Penalaran yang ia gunakan serta kemampuan analisis model dengan melibatkan beberapa variable mampu menghasilkan kesimpulan yang kuat (Hastarini DA, 2017).Malthus merupakan seorang pakar demografi Inggris dan ekonom politik yang paling terkenal. Malthus dilahirkan pada tanggal 13 februari 1766 di Surrey, Inggris dari seorang keluarga kaya. Beberapa karya Malthus yang terkenal adalah bukunya yang berjudul Essay on Population pada tahun 1978 (Ubaid, 2017). J.B Sayy merupakan tokoh ekonomi penting di Prancis, ia lahir pada tahun 1767 tepat Sembilan tahun setelah The Wealth of Nation dicetak. Pada usia ke 65, Say dikenal sebagai ‘ekonom yang hidup di masa-masa sulit’ karena menyaksikan revolusi Amerika dan Prancis. Kekuasaan politik Napoleon dan hidup di awal Revolusi Industri. Dia menciptakan istilah “entrepreneur” yang saat ini menjadi kata modern dalam ekonomi bisnis (Ubaid,2017).
